The activity will provide the opportunity to begin brainstorming possible topics by using the Personal Statement Worksheet. After the session, students will complete the assignment of a 20-minute rough draft of a personal statement in order to get the feel for the difficulty of writing a good personal statement.
Virtue Talk: Humility
Humility is thinking of one’s abilities, actions, and importance as no greater, and no lesser, than they really are. Humility leads one to act without seeking applause.
St. Augustine says, “Humility is the foundation of all other virtue, hence, in the soul in which this virtue does not exist, there cannot be any other virtue except in mere appearance.”
Our talents and abilities are opportunities to serve society and help the less fortunate.
Pride has harmful effects on one’s relationship with friends, family, and God.
